I want to say big words of gratitude to all the Spackman Dental workers! D.Harris Hao Zou-amazing doctorvery caring pleasant to talk to and a real professional!!!A doctor with golden hands and a golden heart. A professional in his field.And after the treatment seeing the doctor's work in the mirror I was simply delighted! My gums dropped and sensitive areas of the teeth were exposed. I did not seek help for a long time. Very uncomfortable places and difficult to work on them. The doctor did a great job of cleaning and fixing the problems. He leveled everything ground polished. He made sure that everything was natural and comfortable when chewing and the position of the tongue. The doctor is very attentive to the details in his work. He does the work so professionally that afterwards there is no feeling of roughness or change in bite.I did not feel any pain or discomfort at all during the work (I have visited the doctor for the third time (7 teeth)). During the work with an injection of anesthesia (previous 2 visits) at my request(today visit) without an injection of anesthesia!!!! I did not feel any combat sensations. And where it was very sensitive the doctor changed tactics and medical devices. But he did all the necessary stages of cleaning and preparing the teeth for fixation. I would like to pay great attention to the well-coordinated work of the doctor and nurse Marci. All work was carried out with full interaction and well-coordinated work of the nurse and doctor. Marci is an excellent and professional assistant to the doctor his "second" hands. No discomfort during the work. The main thing is a very sensitive attentive understanding of the patient's condition and his feelings. Always asks if the patient needs a break from the doctor's work. Professionally carried out work on X-ray images of the oral cavity and teeth. I would also like to mention the receptionist Jamie! After all it is with her that you begin your acquaintance with the clinic. She always answers all questions kindly with a sweet smile and tries to help as much as possible! I wish you and all the staff of the clinic health happiness and family well-being. Thank you very much for your high professionalism and sensitive customer service. I wish prosperity to the clinic.

To frame this review... I have been a terrified dental patient since a very painful bad experience with a previous dentist in my teens. At this practice I no longer fear dental visits. While it's still not my favorite thing to do I no longer dread my 6 month cleanings and check ups. The hygienist Lynda while doing a great job is still careful to not hurt you and remembers to put desensitizer on areas you've felt sensitively in the past. She's personable and has a calming easy conversational style even having my favourite colour of toothbrush ready to give me as a take away. Dr. Scott Spackman is a patient gentle and personable dentist. Following up to date new techniques for pain reduction during procedures and even while giving you the numbing needle. As he took over from my previous dentist who was the world's gentlest dentist I was very nervous at first. However during my first filling my fears were put to rest. And his dental assistant (brain block on her name sorry) is amazing too reading your mind when you need suction or to take a break opening your mouth. Also of note are the lovely reception and office staff! Very friendly and competent always recognizing you when you arrive and taking good care of your dental claims for you when your appointment is finished. All this being said...please don't go there because then I'll have trouble getting appointments easily. 🙃

I was given an appointment almost immediately and was able to address my concerns. All involved including Dr Ayeh and her support team always are generous with their time. On behalf of my wife she would also like to thank Dr. Ayeh for making the time to see her on such short notice. She is grateful for the professional experience and care provided. Her thanks goes out to all involved. Another excellent experience at Spackman Dental. Two weeks in a row with unscheduled dental and two weeks in a row where I was given top notch priority service...well done!! November 29th 2024- another successful appointment with Dr. Ayeh and her team...always friendly and supportive. Makes a Dentist visit almost enjoyable.

Having gone through another difficult tooth extraction at Spackman Dental I continue to believe that these dentists are the best in town. My dentist Dr. Howard Marcotte explains all of the variables in the procedures he is preforming in the way a nervous patient can understand. His team does the work in an efficient courteous and professional manner. I continue to feel that they truly care about giving me the best care possible. All of the staff at Spackman Dental go out of their way to put me at ease. Truly the best dental office in Calgary and I highly recommend them to everyone.

6 months ago I had an appointment it was my first time being seen by Dr. Abenaa Ayeh. She was dishonest and said that I needed 4 fillings. I got bad vibes from her and did not believe her. I recently got a second opinion from another dentist (Dr. Cassidy who is great)and she confirmed that I need zero fillings. I wonder how many unnecessary fillings Ayeh has performed. I have gone to Spackman Dental since I was a kid and until this situation I have had no issues but I absolutely recommend getting a second opinion if Ayeh recommends any work be done.

First of all the receptionists in Dr Spackman’s dental office are all very nice. They attend to you with smile and you already feel a good atmosphere there. Dr Spackman as usual is always very gentle and the same goes with Melanie his dental assistant. I was always asked if iam feeling ok with their procedure. I should say they did an excellent job on making me feel at ease while they do their job. I have anxiety problems in going to doctors and hospitals but they made me always feel comfortable and relaxed Thank you so much ❤️💞

Even though I have only had superlative care from Dr Marcotte previously and now Dr Cassidy I’ve constantly postponed my visits. My childhood dental trauma is still revisited even at my advanced age. Today I visited to catch up on way overdue work and again Dr Cassidy was great. I wish that I caught the name of her assistant . She related to my concerns and offered me a tip about positive reinforcement that I used on my departure. I can’t thank her enough!

The staff is always friendly and helpful. Dr. Spackman gives me all the options of how to deal with any issues that come up and pushes only to fix things if they are actually needed. Shay is the best dental hygienist I've ever had. She has a great playlist going every time and provides an nice relaxed environment. The hygienists and dentists are amazing and listen and help you to be comfortable if you're not too fond in getting your teeth cleaned the girls at the front desk are totally amazing. Dr Scott Spackman

General Dentist

Dr. Scott Spackman was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He attended the University of Calgary before completing his bachelor of medical sciences and doctor of dental surgery degrees at the University of Alberta.

Scott continues to further his education in all areas of dentistry with advanced training in surgery, root canals and crown and bridge treatment. Scott takes pride in providing a comfortable, stress-free environment for his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Scott enjoys spending time outdoors and being active. Scott also loves spending time with his wife and 3 boys. They had twin boys in the fall of 2018 which has added a lot of excitement to their lives!
Dr Danielle Cassidy

General Dentist

Dr. Danielle Cassidy grew up in rural Alberta. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013.

As a general dentist, Dr. Cassidy enjoys all aspects of dentistry but especially enjoys working with families and children. She is committed to providing dental care in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Dr Howard Marcotte

General Dentist

Dr. Howard Marcotte earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees from the University of Alberta in 1978 and has been practicing dentistry ever since. With decades of experience, he is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry and remains committed to ongoing continuing education to provide the highest standard of care.

Dr. Marcotte believes in a patient-centered approach, focusing on personalized treatment plans that prioritize comfort, trust, and long-term oral health. He is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel at ease and confident in their care.

Dr Harris Hao Zou

General Dentist

Dr. Harris Hao Zou graduated from Wuhan University School of Stomatology (Oral Medicine). He pursued his dental career for 10 years at municipal and provincial Hospitals. Dr. Zou moved to Canada in 2011 and furthered his study as a denturist. He then recertified his qualification as a general dentist in Canada. Dr. Zou holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree and is in good standing with CDSA.

Dr. Zou has training in all areas of dentistry with a special interest in the complicated restoration of teeth, root canal treatments, night guards, and complete/partial dentures. He provides a wide range of expertise in a calming atmosphere.

When not working, he enjoys reading, biking, and spending time with his wife and two children.
Dr Rachel Bogle

General Dentist

Dr. Rachel Bogle graduated from Case School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She is originally from Minnesota and moved to Calgary in 2009 with her husband who's also a dentist. Dr. Bogle loves working with families and children, helping young patients feel at ease in the dental chair and building positive oral health habits that last a lifetime. She takes time to listen and provide care that meets each patient’s unique needs.

When not working, Dr. Bogle enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. The entire family loves the outdoors, especially camping, hiking, skiing and trying to learn golf.
Dr Caron Glickman

General Dentist

Dr. Caron Glickman grew up in Seattle, WA. She attended Mills College in Oakland, CA, majoring in biochemistry, then attended and graduated from the University of Washington Dental School in 1988. After dental school, Dr. Glickman completed post-doctoral training on treating elderly, disabled and medically compromised patients.

Prior to moving to Calgary in 2016, Dr. Glickman's practice focus became treating adults with head and neck pain, fabricating dental appliances for sleep apnea and snoring and and providing facial aesthetic treatments. She is on the faculty of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and teaches many of their courses part-time.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys volunteering, reading, walking, skiing, traveling with her husband, Mark and visiting their four grown children and three grandchildren.
